Another meme trend which is visible these days is pertaining to Area 51.

Let Us Tell You What Is Area 51 And Why Is It Trending Right Now

Area 51

Area 51 is a prohibited territory in the United States. Assumed to be a place where aliens are kept by the US forces, this place is otherwise an US Air Force military installation situated in Groom Lake, Southern Nevada. The details of this area are classified due to reasons of national security.

The area is known as Area 51 because of its designation as the same in the maps of Atomic Energy Commission. According to speculations, people have spotted UFOs in this area. However, after the US government officially recognized this place in 2013, the authorities said that there was no UFO landing noted in the area. The so-called UFO landings were test flights of spy plane U-2. Since the plane is crafted to achieve altitudes higher than that of any other aircraft in use during World War-II, the U-2 was mistaken as a UFO.

What Is The Discussion About

Lately, there has been a lot of social media movement on the issue of Area-51. Connecting it to the conspiracy theory, a lot of people believe that Area 51 houses aliens.

As they say, curiosity is the mother of invention and ideas. Out of curiosity to know whether UFOs exist and to see aliens, netizens have decided to raid the Dreamland, aka Area 51.

Guess what, not 100 or 500 but 1.2 million people have signed up on Facebook to be a part of the event named “Storm Area 51, They Can’t Stop Us All”.

The event is scheduled to take place on 20th September 2019 at 3 a.m.

According to the curator of the event, “We will all meet up at the Area 51 Alien Center tourist attraction and coordinate our entry. If we Naruto run (Naruto, the anime character, are you kidding me!), we can move faster than their bullets. Let’s see them, aliens.”

Alas, had they shown the same amount of determination towards their nation in the last presidential elections!

The US Air Force is advising against this senseless move and has responded on the Facebook joke page.

The Air Force spokesperson Laura McAndrews said while talking to the Washington Post that “[Area 51] is an open training range for the US Air Force, and we would discourage anyone from trying to come into the area where we train American armed forces. The US Air Force always stands ready to protect America and its assets.”

After hearing the take of the US Air Force, the Facebook page took a U-Turn and posted that it has no intention to raid the highly-classified territory.

The recent post read, “Hello US government, this is a joke, and I do not actually intend to go ahead with this plan. I just thought it would be funny and get me some thumbsy uppies on the Internet.”

With all the social media commotion on this topic, it would be interesting to see how many people come out of their houses in reality to quench their thirst of seeing a real alien.
