The nation was taken by a shock on September 28-29th 2016, when the Indian army retaliated against Pakistan in what were termed as a series of ‘surgical strikes’.
A surgical strike is defined as a military attack on a specific target, with little or no damage done to the surrounding areas.
India had inflicted these strikes across the LOC to avenge the death of 19 soldiers who were killed by Pak-supported terrorists in Uri earlier that month. This attack in Uri by Pakistan was also termed as the “deadliest attack on Indian security forces in about two decades”.
The civilians had a hundred questions popping in their head during the time when these strikes were conducted and now, with its movie adaptation, ‘Uri’ hitting the theaters, the enthusiasm is back among the Indian audience.
So in the video below, we present to you ten lesser-known facts about these surgical strikes that you need to adept yourself with, before you watch the film.
