Prostitutes Vs Porn stars

In official terms a Prostitute is a woman who engages in sexual activities for money. Porn star, a female porn star refers to someone who acts in pornographic films. Basically women in both professions have sex for money (where obviously one gets it filmed). Then why is it that we treat prostitutes with a view of disgust and praise porn stars for the same. Where on one hand porn stars get famous day by day, prostitutes all over become infamous, where practically looking at it they are doing the same work. Women in porn industry are paid loads of money, one should be aware that porn industry is the only industry in the world where women are paid more than men. However on the other hand prostitutes are barely paid for what they do. In some parts of India, prostitutes work at even INR 10 per customer. Why is there such discrimination? Why do we demean these workers? I especially want to ask this question to those men who have paid to have sex with a prostitute but still don’t think that they deserve respect and appreciation for their work? When one comes across a porn star it’s a wonderful site, whereas as soon as the same person sees a prostitute he or she condemns her. Why do we all act as such hypocrites? There is one thing each one needs to know at this very moment is that our country is one of the few countries in the world where prostitution is legal. Prostitution is legal to the extent where it is undertaken as a mean of earning livelihood and as long as this money is not going to a pimp. Google clearly mentions the same, furthermore it is important to be aware of the fact that even though prostitution is legal, activities like soliciting in a public place, kerb crawling, owning or managing a brothel, pimping and pandering, are crimes. One more thing, if we have a porn star say Sunny leone who comes forward and starts stripping in a public place say a mall, people will hoot, cheer for her rather than ask her to stop, but if a prostitute starts doing the same thing she will be abused, disrespected and immediately thrown out of the mall by the security guards . I again ask why so much injustice towards the prostitute who comes out and does the same thing as a porn star? Why do we suddenly be ashamed of being in vicinity of a prostitute? If the prostitutes start getting themselves filmed, would the customers pay them more? No, they won’t. There is a need for the readers and the public to opens up their mind and realise these facts very clearly. Give women respect that they deserve also if two women are actually doing the same thing there is no reason we treat them unequally. Prostitutes do what they do out of the need to earn money, they are not doing something illegal. They need your support and deserve their due respect.
