Peculiar Traits Of Every Bookworm Which One Will Definitely Relate To

-

By Sanchari Pal

Bookworms often tend to be treated as A grade nerds. They are always subject to snide comments and snickers. But it’s alright, really. Poor people who don’t read books don’t know what they are missing out on.

Dear bookworms, here are some points by which you can identify fellow bookworms and have a long, bookish chat.

 1. You prefer books to people.

You’d much rather have an imaginary conversation with your favorite book rather than interact with actual people because, ugh, who wants to talk to complicated people anyway?

 2. You are in love with some fictional character.

Life is so much simpler that way. Besides, your book heroes have set such a high standard that nobody from the real world seem to be able to fulfill it. It’s not everywhere that one can find a Mr. Darcy, after all.

 3. Your idea of comfort is a mug of hot chocolate and your favorite book.

So many people need cozy rooms, contrasted walls, fluffy pillows and all kinds of things to be comfortable. But your comfort can come anywhere, even at a railway station, provided you have your book and coffee/hot chocolate. Even the latter may not be imperative sometimes!

 4. You love the smell of new books more than the smell of pizza.

Sometimes this could be a tough choice but book always wins in the end. Especially if the book is a new release and you’ve been waiting for it. I mean, pizza can wait, right?

 5. All your text book money goes behind novels.

This is something very close to the hearts to every unemployed bookworm ever. It becomes pretty darn difficult to explain to your parents why you need money for new textbooks when they only gave it to you last week!

 6. You take more care of your books than yourself.

You might be found with uncombed, unkempt hair but your books are always pristine. You could quite literally kill anyone who dares to mark your book even with a pencil. And of course, you hard bind your old books.

 7. You are very reluctant to lend your books.

This is not your fault. Your book is like your child. People who loan your books hardly ever remember to return it. That is seriously annoying.

 8. You always find faults with the movie adaptations of your favorite book.

They never seem to get it right, do they? The movies keep on missing important parts of the books and you totally judge anyone who tells you they have seen the movie but not read the book. You are in constant search of THAT PERFECT movie adaptation.

 9. You firmly believe world peace can be obtained through reading books.

Honestly, this is the simplest solution ever. Just make the Jehadis sit with books and they won’t have time to contemplate war.Besides, reading enriches the mind and once a person is well read, he or she would not want to fight anymore.

Books are magic. They are life changing and “man’s best friend” or being politically correct, “human’s best friend”.
