Ramzan is the ninth and one of the holiest months of the Islamic calendar. During this month, Muslims worldwide fast for 30 days and dedicate themselves to the service of God.

It is believed that the holy month is observed to commemorate the first revelation of the holy book- Quran to Prophet Mohammad. As a gesture of celebration, Muslims fast for the whole day and are only allowed to eat from dusk to dawn. The pre-dawn meal before the fast is called the ‘Suhoor’, while the meal served after sunset that breaks the fast is called the ‘Iftar’.

Muslims intake these ‘Suhoor’ and ‘Iftar’ meals in a rather celebrated way, which makes this month a favorite one for all. Although Ramzan is more about seeking forgiveness from God and offering prayers, nonetheless, the month is undoubtedly a delight for the foodies.

Usually, the ‘Iftar’ meal is served with mouth-watering snacks, appetisers, drinks, and desserts. Prepared with love and full of flavor, the entire family sits together to eat delicious ‘iftar’ meals or the meals are sent to mosques and other designated places.
