If I Were Jose Mourinho, This Would Be My Transfer List

-

Every one of us has an opinion when it comes to transfers in football. Football fanatics like us love to banter and speculate about the players which should and shouldn’t come to our team.

If I were in the shoes of Jose Mourinho and had to buy players from a kitty purse of 150$ million to challenge for the PL next year, these would be my buys:

  1. Alexis Sanchez( Winger and Striker)- 55$ mn.

We can certainly pull off a Van Persie out here. Giggs has already given his nod for the transfer. He wants to play CL football which Arsenal can’t give it to him. Moreover, he is the type of player which Mourinho wants. Poacher. Hard Working. Running up and down the field for 90 mins.

The Chilean was shortlisted for this season’s PFA Player of the Year award after scoring an impressive 26 goals for the Gunners and winning the FA Cup as well.

Considering that Zlatan and Rashford would be there next season as well, he could come handy in case of dire situations and will give tough competition to Martial and Lingard at both the wings.

  1. Benjamin Mendy (left back) – 35$mn

He plays as a left back for Monaco and was in scintillating form in the just concluded season. He was one of the pivotal factors behind the success of Monaco’s league and CL  campaign.

Shaw’s career is in jitters right now. Injuries have pushed him back and on top of that, Jose has openly criticized for being too “soft”. Blind is a good back up but is more suitable for the CD position considering his pace and reading of the game ability.

Manchester City is in the race as well and might as well get him but with ED Woodward, you never know. You just never know.

  1. Blaise Matuidi (Central Midfielder)- 25$mn

A proven midfielder of the highest quality. We aren’t going to get either Kroos or Verrati so there is no use fretting over them. Matuidi is a very good player who can be a good addition to our already talented and more than a useful group of midfielders.

Pogba, Herrera, Fellaini (one of the most improved players and is an asset when we need to play direct style of football and long balls), Carrick, Fosu Mensah can play at CM as well as at RB.

He might not be at the peak of his powers but at CDM, we need a player who has experience under his belt, has good ball distribution qualities and his level headed. He certainly ticks all the boxes.

  1. Willian(Right Wing)- 35$mn

We need pace on the wings and he can be an answer to our problems. It is a known fact that Mourinho loves him. He was one of the few bright lights in the season where everything went downhill for Mourinho.

He has been the second choice for Conte for much of the season who prefers Pedro over him in almost all the marquee matches. Being a top footballer who wants more playing time and also due to his proximity with the Special One, he could be a real coup for us in the upcoming transfer window.

All the transfers have been done keeping in mind that there is a budget of only 150$ mn.

We just hope that United are real contenders for the PL and CL next year.
