The cricket frenzy in India is something that doesn’t require any explanation. We have watched them play well, watched them stumble, watched them picking up form again, we have witnessed them, becoming stars.

Looking at the new talent that is coming up, it won’t be wrong to say that the future of the Indian Cricket team is in fact, in safe hands.

Let’s take a look at these 5 cricketers who can be the key players for India in the future.

1. Hardik Pandya

Well, Hardik Pandya is already a star in his own right.  He seems to be one of the most promising talents for Indian cricket right now. Remembered as the man who took the ‘Man of the Match’ in his first ODI itself, he is capable of showing great potential given his passion, skills, and attitude.

And who can forget the Champions Trophy Final against Pakistan which in true nature made him an overnight star. The fact that he was able to deliver so well in a tough situation was proof enough of his potential, granting him a permanency in the team. He is also keeping the captain very happy with his remarkable performances in the India v Australia ODI series. Way to go Hardik!

2. Krunal Pandya

The Pandya house has quite a lot of talent, and both the brothers are proving their mettle on the field. Having helped his team secure their 3rd IPL title, Krunal Pandya makes for a very crucial part of the Mumbai Indians set-up. “He’s got a good temperament,” Krunal’s coach Jitendra Singh told Firstpost in May last year. “He can take singles at will and find the gaps as well when needed,” he had added.

The Baroda all-rounder has not only garnered praise from the coach but the captain and the fans alike. He has inched a bit closer to his dream by getting a call-up from the India-A team but his goal still remains to play alongside brother Hardik in the 2019 ICC World Cup.

3. K L Rahul

Considered an excellent batsman by many, KL Rahul is another very promising talent, India can rely on. He is one of the few batsmen to have scored 1000+ runs in Ranji, which gave him a place in the SRH set up for the upcoming IPL. Having scored a 100 in his ODI Debut, he has also scored centuries in all formats of the game. Doing quite good for himself, especially in tests, he shall remain in sight in the Indian squad for quite long.

4. Yuzvendra Chahal

Royal Challengers head coach Daniel Vettori heaped praises for the leggie, “The way he bowled in the Champions League final (in 2013) was the reason why we wanted to get him into RCB. He is competitive coupled with a lot of skills. I think those two qualities make a formidable combination for a spin bowler and he is positive and confident of what he is doing.”

Chahal’s courageous performance for RCB in IPL ensured him a permanent place in India’s limited overs side. The boy is giving a tough time to the Aussies currently, with his spin partner Kuldeep Yadav. Chahal is sure to become a big thing in the coming bowling future for India.

5. Kuldeep Yadav

Kuldeep Yadav who has now become the bowling sensation of India is certainly the new face of Indian spin bowlers. His hattrick in the second ODI between India and Australia, being the third only Indian to do so, has been garnering a lot of praise.

The slow left-arm spin bowler who made his debut in IPL 2014 playing for KKR took a memorable 6 wicket haul in 3 matches with an average of 16.67. Talking about the Kuldeep-Chahal spin combination in the current ODI series Harbhajan Singh says, “What makes Kuldeep-Chahal combination special is the fact that the wrist spinners’ ability to extract something from the pitch is independent of the conditions.” As an audience, it is an absolute delight to watch these spinners build such pressure on the Kangaroos and making a mark in the international arena.
