Do you find regular commuting very boring?  If yes then we are here with a list of some of the funkiest vehicles that will certainly help you to beat the cycle of monotony.

ONE WHEEL

Design: Combine unicycle, a Segway, a skateboard and stir it with some creativity and you will have an amazing thing called – the Onewheel.  Invented by an electromechanical engineer, Kyle Doerksen, Onewheel uses a single rubber tire that has motor in it only.

How does it work: Platform on the one side has all the electronics including gyroscopes, accelerometers and on the other side it has a combination of lithium batteries with charging slot. Its direct-drive motor pairs with the components to determine the board’s speed based on a how you lean your body.

Tech Specs: The electric motor is powerful enough to move up to 12 miles per hour when users lean to one side. The self-balancing ride can give you an amazing experience of surfing or skiing on powder for 20 minutes once fully charged.

SEGWAY PT

Design: The Segway PT is a two-wheeled, self-balancing, battery-powered electric vehicle which looks like a high-tech scooter.  This balancing act is the most amazing thing about the Segway, and it is the key to its operation.

How does it work: To move forward or backward on the Segway, the rider just leans slightly forward or backward. To turn left or right, the rider turns the right handlebar forward or backward. Like your brain, the Segway knows when you are leaning forward. To maintain balance, it turns the wheels at just the right speed, so you move forward.  Gyroscopic sensors and fluid-based leveling sensors detect the weight shift.

Tech Specs: Segway PTs can travel as far as 38 km on a single battery charge and can reach a speed of 12.5 miles per hour (20.1 km/h), depending on the situation.

The environmental friendly vehicle is a great way to bridge the distance between sustainable development and modern lifestyle.

SOLOWHEEL

Design: Solowheel is essentially a self-balancing unicycle with handle on the top for personal mobility. With the dimensions of 43 x 48 x 13 cm and weight of 11 kilograms, the solowheel is pretty small and sleek.

How does it work: There are no physical steering controls whatsoever and instead you use your body weight to control direction and speed. The electric unicycle is easy to use and quick to learn, the feet are quite close to the ground and the legs rest against each side of the housing which help with balance and steering. Like the Segway, you lean in the direction where you want to move the vehicle. Handle on the top allows easy transportation- simply you can pick it up and carry it with you one you are done with it.

Tech Specs: It has 1000-Watt of electric motor mated to Li-ion battery to give a ride for about a couple of hours and allowing the vehicle to reach a top notch of 19 kmph. Its battery is reported to take 45 minutes to charge but a regenerative system returns energy to the battery when the rider slows down or the unit goes downhill, which could help extend the range.

FLYRAD

Design and working: If you want to fly with skates on then you need this machine! You can ride the FlyRad simply by skating behind it by getting dragged or sitting atop of the thing, anchored by your own knees and having the skates as your steering.

flyrad

Tech Specs: FlyRad is available in three different sizes for people of all age group. They all have a 30 V/500 W motor and weigh about 24 kg. FlyRad’s maximum speed is about 40 km/h (25 mph) and their battery autonomy is 50 km (31 miles), enough for a day’s ride to work and back.

However, it can also be fitted with a 1,000W motor for daredevils who want to go further and faster.
